"The Child Must Know That She Is a Miracle, That Since The Beginning of the World There Hasn't Been, and Until the End of the World There Will Not Be, Another Child Like Her." -Pablo Casals 1876-1973

Exciting News!

So Madeline took the Clark College placement test for Running Start. She passed with FLYING COLORS! 87 on the Writing and 90 on the Reading! She qualified to take English 101! Whoo Hoo! Our kid is SMART! We always knew it, she just needed more motivation, and it looks like college was IT! Yay!

And Juliette. This funny little girl announced to us that she tried out for a special choir tryout last week ( and yes she just announced this to us yesterday) and she made it! Yay again! So we are going to be in Camas for a Choir concert in April. I think her singing voice came from me. ;)

Update. Finally.

Whew. Life gets so dang busy. I swear, it sure doesn't feel like there are 24 hours in a day half the time. Feels like about 10.

So, update on everyone as promised. ;)

On Friday, Joey played his Semi-Final game for State cup. They did so awesome all year. All the way to the semi's. All the way through the entire game. Score was tied 1-1. All the way through TWO 10 minute overtimes. Then, the PK's (Penalty Kicks). I HATE that games are decided on PK's. Hate it. It turns a game of skill into a game of chance, and its all dependant on the goalie. So not fair. Joey's team lost in PK's. Noah went up to Seattle with Aaron to watch the game. They had some great Daddy/Son/Brother bonding time. Eating out and talking soccer and basketball all day. You know. Boy stuff. ;)

Juliette was very busy being a 9 year old party girl this weekend. She had parties on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Not including 2 sleepovers. On Saturday morning, she went roller skating for a birthday party. Saturday afternoon, Cassidy's birthday. Saturday night, sleepover with Meghan. Sunday morning, birthday party for Carson. Sunday night , sleepover with Callista. And the Grand Finale was a birthday party for Kate at Red Robin followed by the movie Coraline. WHEW! That is a schedule that I couldn't even handle. Needless to say, Juliette went to bed very early Monday night and slept well.

Madeline is doing the usual. School, hanging out with friends and babysitting on Mondays. I did squeeze in a chance to take her and Joey shopping Sunday morning. They really needed some clothes so they were pretty happy about that. Madeline has been hanging out at her best friend Nicole's house alot on the weekends. I finally made it over to meet her mom since my daughter has decided to move in. I feel like I have visitation rights. I get the week, Nicole's family has her on weekends. But shes happy so I'm happy. She takes her tests for Clark tomorrow. She's wanting to do Running Start. So she will basically get credit for college and high school. It sounds like it will be great. We don't have to pay for the college classes yet she gets credits for it. Awesome huh?

I guess I don't need to do much updating on the little girls. I'm sure I will be back tomorrow with some pictures. ;)

Day 4

Ok, Day 4 of my Henna. Im still loving it. Its not as orange but still just a bit, but I must have been ready for a change, because even with it a bit orange, I still love it. I tried to get a really good picture but I just cant. I look worried. I dont know why. Nothing to worry about over here ;)

Holy Orange Hair Batman!

Good thing orange is my favorite color huh? And a very good thing its not October. LOL. This picture is from Sunday so its still much more orange in this picture than it is today. Please excuse the half hearted attempt at a decent picture. Madeline wasn't home to help. I sure do not know how the kids take good self portraits. Everytime I try, my nose looks bigger than it already is!

As for my hair, I like it. I cant wait to see how it turns out in the next few days. This is fun. Like a science experiment on my head. ;)

A Whole New Me

Ok, well maybe not, but its a whole new haircolor. After ALOT of thinking, I decided to Henna my hair. Its getting pretty damaged and the grow out was not pretty. And, lets face it, I really do not have the time, the desire (nor the money) to go get my hair "done" all the time. Henna is completely chemical free, its inexpensive and its REALLY good for your hair. So good in fact that you can do Henna over Henna over Henna as many times as your heart desires with the only after affect being extremely healthy and shiny hair. But its red. RED RED with a tad of orange RED. I'm hoping that I can pull it off ok. Especially since Henna is about as permanent as a tattoo .Here's a teaser pic until I get a better one up. But remember, the one important thing about Henna is that it has to oxidize on your hair. So no final judgement calls for at least 4 days. Promise?

Oh, and if you forgot what (boring) color my hair was before, just look one post down to my Amazing Day post.

An Absolutely Amazing Day

Today was an amazing day.
Today a very good friend of mine had a beautiful baby boy. I was fortunate enough to be invited to his birth to take pictures. It was amazing. Words cannot even describe how miraculous childbirth is. Amber was so strong and so beautiful. To be able to witness another life brought into this world in such a calm serene manner was just beyond words. This sweet baby boy was born at home, in the water, into his mommys anxiously waiting arms. Now that is the way God intended a child to be born.

Look Out Benjamin Franklin...

Delilah has discovered electricity all over again! I think she could have lit up the house with all that juice running through her hair. And yes, that is all 100% natural Static Electricity! Wow!

Hahahaha.

And presenting...

The Electric Mohawk!!!

Now, where is that green hair dye. We only hope she doesnt decide she really likes it and tries to recapture it in her teens.

Spring...

So I know that groundhog whats-his-name said 6 more weeks of winter, but after yesterday and today, I'm starting to think he might be wrong. He better be. I'm tired of being cold. And the kids had such a good time yesterday. We took a walk and played outside. I think this was Delilahs first time actually "playing" outside. Welcome to the Great NW.
