Time For A Trip.....

to Seattle. Crazy? Maybe. But in all reality, we have to get used to this triplet thing. Out of the house. In public. It's never going to get easier, just different. Or at least, that's what I've been told. So, why not start trying now? Joseph and Juliette's soccer teams made the state cup finals! That's pretty huge over here in our soccer minded family. And I wanna see them play. Last weekend when Aaron was gone overnight, and I was alone, with triplets and toddlers, was NOT fun. So, I figure, if it's going to be miserable, I would rather us do it together. :) Sooooo, it's off to Seattle we go. I'll be watching my first soccer game in months. Stay tuned for pictures. We'll be home Sunday night. Wish us luck. Lots of it.

Nicknames....

Poor baby girls. Annie has nicknamed them.

Emilia: Big Chunky Girl

Rosalie: Pound Puppy

Gwendolen: Floppies Around

I must admit that Aaron and I are probably at fault for the nicknames. We talk about how much bigger Emilia is than her sisters (even though it's just 8oz, it seems like a few pounds). So we say she is "chunky". Rosalie was given the nickname Pound Puppy because a friend said she resembled one. It stuck. Gwendolen likes to flop her body around when you hold her. She arches back and is very wiggly. Aaron and I say she "flops around alot". Thus, Floppies Around is her new name.

I really hope they don't stick. Poor baby girls.

3 In The Bed.....

"and the little one said.....Roll over, I'm crowded. So, they all rolled over...."

does anyone else know that song?

Anyway...Thought I would share a little of our nighttime routine. Remember that post about "How in the heck is this breastfeeding thing even possible?" We have it perfected. Feeding totally on demand day and night. And I'm not going crazy. It works. Perfectly for us. I was so used to demand feeding a single baby, 3 isn't that much different. Just more. And since these are our last babies (*sniff, sniff*) I want to breastfeed as much as possible. I also get alot more one-on-one time with each baby, which I love. I've obviously gotten very good at tandem nursing. I can hook up 2 babies in about 15 seconds with no pillows. It's great. It's not the most attractive thing ever but it serves the purpose.

So, how goes the night your wondering?

Notice the spacing between the babies? That space is for me. When we start the night, all 3 babies are in the crib. As they wake up, I move them in with me. Luckily, so far, its been just one baby waking at a time. When they join me in bed, I feed them. As the next baby awakens, I move that one in with me and feed her. And the 3rd. Thus, creating the spaces. Throughout the night, I just move from space to space and feed whatever baby is hungry. This means I don't lose much sleep since I hook a baby up and go back to sleep. Once in awhile, 2 will want to eat at the same time. I do have to stay awake for that but I don't get up. How is that possible, you ask? Well, I stack them. Really. I lay on my side, feed that baby laying down, with the bottom boob, then lay another baby on top of that baby and hook her up to the top boob. I'm sure it is quite a site, but it works. Well. Very well actually. In the past week, I've had to use a bottle twice. TWICE. 3 babies, 7 days, 24 hours in each day, TWO bottles. Total. I'm very proud of that, can ya tell? Which also means, I don't have to pump. Thank God.

Meet Donna....

Hot Donna, that is. She is my new van. Ok, well, new-to-me van. And I know your wondering about that name. If you watch That 70's Show, you will get it. If you don't, then just laugh and go with it. Hot Donna. I love her. I figure, if I gotta drive a huge big ol' f-uly van, it might as well have some character. Right? And I'm pretty sure that I'm rocking the van. I mean, brown and orange have always been my colors.
And who doesn't love tweed?

It goes for mile and miles back there. Seats 12. More than enough room for the fam!

My seat. :)

So, you love it right?

*The Picture Post*

Gwendolen
Emilia Rosalie
Finally. All edited. The girlies are almost 3 months. Actual age. Adjusted age is 5.5 weeks. I've noticed that socially, they act their actual age and about 8 weeks adjusted for everything else. Basically, they are doing AWESOME. And while it's not been easy, I wouldn't change anything for the world. They smile and coo and are getting to be so much fun. I'm even starting to regain some sort of normalcy. I even got a pedicure yesterday! It took me, Miranda and Amber to go but that's ok. It was so awesome to be getting a pedi, drinking a mocha and nursing Gwendolen. Talk about relaxing. Gwendolen even got her first little manicure. lol. The lady noticed that her nails were long (I hate cutting them) so she cut them for me. Rosalie and Emilia soundly slept in ring slings with their surrogate mommies. Because, you know, with triplets, it takes more than one mommy. :)

Me. The Photographer. Not.

This is the perfect example of why I hire a photographer. 3hours, 300 shots, 3 crabby babies and 1 sweaty mama later, the majority of the shots looked like this:

I did get a select few good ones. I'm working on editing them. I'll be back to post them when I get done.

I Believe..

in so many different things. One might call me random. Or eclectic. Or weird. Call it what you want, if you haven't ever seen it how do you know it doesn't exist? Is seeing really believing or can we just know in our minds and hearts that things are a truth? A reality? Whether on this earth, or another planet. Whether in this life or the next. Whether in our eyes or in our thoughts. I truly believe one thing:

{We are not human beings living in a spiritual world, we are spiritual beings living in a human world}

I believe in Fairies and Aliens. I believe in God, our Father, and Goddesses. I believe in Heaven and Mars. I believe in Hell and Outer Space. I believe in Gnomes and Werewolves. I believe in Bigfoot and The Lochness Monster. I believe in Ghosts and Reincarnation. I believe in Love and Life. I believe in Fate and Tragedy.

I believe.

Happy 2nd Birthday Delilah

so sorry sweet girl, Mommy's a bit late on this one, but I guess that's how it goes lately.
Delilah Verity. 2 whole years!! So hard to believe. We love you so very much. When I think about how close we came to losing you after your twins died, it makes me hug you closer and closer every day. You are such an amazing little girl. So happy and funny. And oh so loving. You love so intently, especially on your new baby sisters. You have the best of both worlds, you are a baby sister and a big sister. And you are perfect at both jobs. Thank you Lilah for being you and for being our beautiful daughter. Happy happy birthday my sweet 2 year old girl.

Prayers Please...

I was linked to this blog from a friend on Facebook. Please, take time to pray for this family and their dear dear son. They have suffered a very avoidable tragedy, but one that many of us as moms are guilty of. If you pray, please do so. If you scroll to February 1st, you will start with the beginning of the story.

Yes, There are Three...

As I was thinking of writing this post, I was worried that alot of people would think I was complaining, being negative or bitchy even. I just want to get it out there, that that is NOT the case. I write this with humor and as I shake my head and walk away, there is always a smile on my face. Although my responses (in the grey) aren't always vocalized, I do think them and again, always with a smile on my face. I think of how it wasn't that long ago, that I was one of those people so enamoured with multiples. Now, I am on the other side of the fence. And it is FUN.

Here are some of the comments we've gotten when out. Hope you laugh like we did :)

**"Oh, twins?" "No, there are 3." WOW! 3!" "OMG, How do you do it?" Do we have a choice?

**"Boy, you sure have your hands full" Um, actually, overfull, I've only got 2 hands and 3 babies (not to mention the other 6 at home)

**"Triplets? Really? You have THREE? Haha, What a trip" Get it? TRIP?" Yeah, I get it, Haha

**"Triplets? Are they natural?" "Um, yeah, last I checked they looked pretty natural to me, not fake at all."

**So, are you done now?" How is that anyone's business but ours?

** Wow, you got yourselves a baseball/basketball/soccer team" Totally our goal. How did you know?

**"Are they identical? 1 boy and 2 girls?" Really? How do I respond to that BUT laugh?

**Were they planned?" How do you plan triplets? You don't.

** "Did you do IVF"? Again, not really your business, do I ask you if you have sex? Or how YOUR children were conceived? I don't think so. And if I did, shame on me.

**Wow, Thank God it's you and not me" My thoughts exactly.

**Nine? Why not go for the whole dozen"? Um, would you? Really?

**So, 2 boys and 7 girls? Seven GIRLS?? Poor Aaron (Your poor husband)". Ok. But let's all remember Biology class. The gender is his determination.

** You guys are gonna need a BUS". Yes, yes we are. Well, a van, but who are we kidding. Either way, It's large.

** You can't possibly be breastfeeding them". Actually, I am. Exclusively.

** You are amazing". Thank you :)

And, for the record, yes, my hands are full. Of love. And perfect babies. They are not identical (we don't think). They are all girls. The babies are "natural" . No IVF. We just got lucky. They were planned. In a sense. We were trying for one more boy. God had other plans. Gotta love his sense of humor. And 9 is more than enough. And Thank God it's me. THANK GOD.
